In your own words describe what you are supposed to do to complete the 2016 Identity Project.  What will you do to make your shadowbox special?

The  things that you have to do to complete the 2016 Identity Project is find pictures to be printed (3 dominant narrative, 3 counter narrative, and as many identity pictures as you can. Choose a shoebox and art material. The other is to make it special to you. The one thing that I would do to make is special (other than it having pictures that make up who i am). One thing is that I’ll make a cloud that’s represent my kind of weather, and maybe add raindrops to show what kind of weather i was born at. I also want to put curtains at the edge of my box to where i’ll be putting my pictures. It’s like a metaphore. A window to the soul.

What is a DOMINANT NARRATIVE that someone might tell you about your RACE or your ETHNICITY?

People would say that us, Latina women should be housewife, or be cleaning houses. Out in society we shouldn’t be more stronger than men. That us women should be models, housewife, etc, than famous football player or soccer player. Society thinks that women aren’t strong as men, but in reality that’s a lie.
